Installing French Satellite TV (Telecom 2b)

Dish
Size - 60cm is the minimum with a universal LNB head
Fixing bracket
(+ heavy duty bolts + wall plugs)
Receiver
Type - analogue - you should be able to get one pre-programmed - but it is straight forward to tune in
Cost - about £50 from a French hypermarket
Scart (Euro-connector) cable

Length of Coaxial cable
Type Satellite grade
Two 'F' type connectors

Ladder

Tools
Drill, Spanners

1 Install your bracket on a wall facing in the right direction ! For Telecom 2b you need to to be able to point the satellite South West at 5 degrees. A clue - the new digital sky dishes (mini dishes) point South East.
2 Attach the cable to the dish via an 'F' connector. It is advisable also to use some electrical tape to secure the cable to the dish arm to stop it flapping about. (It is difficult to attach the cable once the dish is in place)
3 Place the dish on to its bracket. This is quite awkward while up a ladder so take your time.
4 Set the elevation of the dish. This depends on your location but should be slightly steeper than SKY dishes. Tighten this part of the bracket arrangement (on mine via bolts and a clamp) - there should be markings on the dish to assist with this. (part 2)
